I use it for back up power at home. My wood stove heats the house and this inverter powers my whole den. Cable TV, computer, lights, microwave, etc. I run a string of christmas lights up the stairs to the kithen and bedrooms. My power source is a Diehard PM-1 deepcycle marine platinum battery. It's on trickle charge all the time. A user note is to keep the cord to the TV as short as possible to minimize RF interference. you can also coil up the AC cord to work as an inductive RF choke. 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful. This thing rocks! By Prettyboy53214 So I have had this inverter for a little over a week now, I have tested it for the last few days, this thing is the real deal at a nice price. I had mine running 2 LG 10,000 btu window air conditioners to see if it would work and it worked like a charm! At first i ran the ac units and the wire was getting a little hot at the connections so I used a heavier gauge wire and a better connector and it works great. This inverter was worth every penny in my opinion. I made a battery pack that it connects to power all my fun camping stuff for when I go camping. The product itself is made nicely even the remote looks sweet, they could have cut corners on a lot of things but instead they did not. I love power bright just for that! For those of you that are wondering the inverter itself starts beeping at around 10.5v and its not a loud annoying beep that you will find on other inverters, its gentle to my ears. Also the unit turns off completely @ 15.3v If you get this unit be sure to read the manual, its pretty short and sweet and has some useful info in it as well. Use 2 gauge or 0 gauge for best results. Make sure you use this with a deep cycle battery for optimum power. By Karl I bought this panel to charge my Nokia N810 on a week-long camping trip. I was able to charge my N810 (PDA,) my old HTC Wallaby smartphone, and my girlfriend's Sansa e260 music player with it. I never let any of them run down to 0% battery, however it took the HTC Wallaby only about 4 hours total to charge both the internal and external batteries from about 5% total battery power. The Sansa took two hours to charge to full from 25%, and the N810 charged from 50% to full in around 2 hours. The panel is listed as a max 410mA, and in full sun, properly angled, I was reading 400mA from the panel. The biggest point of note is that in order to get full power from any solar panel, it needs to face the sun directly. This means in order to get the most out of the panel you need to readjust the angle every hour or so. The way I judge the proper angle of the panel was to put a one inch bolt through the small grommet at the bottom of the panel. With the bolt firmly in place, I turn and tilt the panel until the bolt has no shadow - this then means that the bolt, and therefore the panel, is aimed directly at the sun. Charging in the car works, but with similar concerns. It's much more difficult to properly orient the panel, and driving around results in inconsistent light hitting the panel, resulting in longer charge times. The panel came with an assortment of charging plugs, however none fit the HTC Wallaby, so I needed to make my own. It did have the 2mm charger for most Nokia devices (my N810 included) and the power connector on the panel itself is a USB socket, allowing most USB charging cords to be used. The panel worked beautifully for me, and even with 3 different devices I was able to keep all three charged for the entire week I was camping. I was using the N810 for roughly 5 hours a day, the HTC Wallaby for about 3 hours at night watching movies, and the Sansa e260 was running 8+ hours a day. I highly recommend this solar panel if you have any mobile devices you might need to keep charged while camping or hiking. It's small, light and provides enough power to charge many handheld devices. Packs a good wallop By RickaTTic This is a very nice product and has a good output as advertised. I measured 5.10 volts open and 400ma short circuit with a VOM. Charging my LG900 phones takes about 4 hours from almost dead in good sunlight. I really like the fact of how the panel produces good output across 180 degrees of sun orientation. Moving the panel to track the sun is not really necessary so you can set it and forget it. I bought a USB charger cable which plugged right into the panel and phone for $3 from a 'dollar store'. The unit comes with an assortment of plugs for cellphones and the radio shack style adaptaplug connectors. I gutted one of the included cellphone plugs (A BIGFAT OLD STYLE)and soldered together a 2 pin female adaptaplug so I could have a neg 5 volt plug in center pin for my Kaito SW radio. It plays and charges that thing perfectly. Since an adaptaplug female cable is not included you will have to rig up a connector if you want to reverse polarities from the included set which gives +plus voltage to the center pins. My plan was to run and charge my Kaito KA1102 AM/FM/HF radio (-NEG 5 VOLT CENTER PIN)during power failures. This panel has grommets along the edges for easy mounting, I used rubber tarp straps to mount this to a 100 gallon cylindrical fuel tank. It charges the deep cycle battery that runs the pump that was already in place. I used to put the battery on a charger every night the pump was used, with the solar charge is not necessary, is virtually maintenance free now. I bought a square framed panel first, did not take long to figure out this was going to be a nightmare getting a square panel mounted to a round tank. With this flex style do not have to worry about rocks and gravel kicking up on the panel either. By CTBren I got a HQRP 30W Flexible Solar Panel Power 30 Watt 12V Mono-crystalline PV Module for my boat to replace an ancient 11 watt Flx-11 solar panel that is no longer made. The HQRP 30 Watt panel is roughly 16 X 34 inches. The old 11 watt panel was 30 inches by 16 inches. 19 more watts, in 4 inches more length, shows a LOT more watt density than in Ye Olden Dayes! It sits on a Bimini Top on my sailboat, so I had to round off the sharp corners on the aluminum sheet substrate with some tin-snips. It's been installed for three weeks now and even with all the rain plaguing the Southeastern U.S. lately, STILL keeps my Group 29 battery fully float-charged into a solar array charger. It is too much to mess with every time you get out of your car in hot weather. If there is low sunlight, or you have the least amount of tinting on your windows, even factory shading, IT DOES NOT WORK. The manual was fun to read with the descriptions appearing to be computer translated from Chinese. The generator feels a little tight when starting but a few pumps to the primer bulb seemed to do the trick and it started right up. I used it the first weekend I got it to power my rv, especially the AC unit. It would start the AC if everything else is turned off at the breaker panel and my AC unit was vented for "waterfall". (My deep cycle battery was very low and the converter had to be turned off.) I ran it HARD for two days in a Tennessee field, temps 96 degrees F and 60% humidity, after starting the AC I turned the breakers back on to everything but the microwave (I didn't want to risk it or produce any heat inside the RV). I ran it 6-8 hours a day for two days with no problems. Make sure you don't push the choke handle back too far, it will get stuck behind the rear cover. It used about 50cc of oil during tha first weekend. this was enough to make it more sensitive to it's being out of level causing the low oil condition to shut it off. ALWAYS BRING THE SPECIAL OIL DISPENER WITH YOU! The unit ran well during the weekend and if the AC was to finally shutdown, always after dark, we could watch tv and dvd player with plenty of 12 volts items (3 lights, 2 fans, stereo playing to the outside) and the generator would idle down very low and make very little sound. 41 of 42 people found the following review helpful. Magna 3000 Review By Clint C The first Generator I received was defective - motor would not run consistently. The support concerning this matter was outstanding. The second generator arrived the day of my vacation. It performed as intended, but the Magna 3000W gen will not handle even a newer, 2004 13.2 Unit. with Hard Start installed. So be aware the claims made are somewhat mis-leading per my experience. Overall the unit is cheaper than the Honda EU2000 and appears to be a good choice for the basic RV uses. It's compact and quiet. The lack of a parallel kit option is something to consider if you quest full RV capability. Martin First off this unit REQUIRES ALCOHOL FREE GAS!! This can sometimes be hard to find, and with time your only outlet might be marinas. To protect your investment get a dedicated gas can for your generator and mark it . Thanks to my fellow reviewers. I would not have bought this unit without your sage advice. Also Exciting Products did a good job with price, handling and prompt delivery. Now to the product. Overall construction is good. I did a quick nut, bolt screw tightness test and found no problems. The choke lever will get pushed under the cover if you are not careful. Oiling up is not much of a problem. Just measure out .9 liters to start with and remember the dip stick is read after holding it in the fill hold...not screwed in. I did some comparing to the honda 2000 on engine size and it appears the Magna has plenty of engine to meet the generator needs. The Econo setting is great ffor low steady loads. Really holds the noise down. With all due respect to my neighbor in Monteagle, the manual is well written and goes into more details than the honda 2000's. A lot of detail on output is included. I wish the full explanation of output was included in the product writeup. Bottom line, for purely resistive loads this unit will produce 3000 watts for 30 minutes and run continuously at 2700 VA. What is confusing it that the manual also states that the AC output at unity pf is 2500 W. Last time I checked VA = Watts at unity (1.0)power factor . So what gives?? As for starting air conditioner with induction motors, I can't help. I

GP-RV-125 Solar Charging Kit By Peter Anderson I bought this kit and it came with absolutely everything I needed to install the solar system. It has the 125 watt Carmanah solar module, the 25 amp digital Go Power regulator and all the wire and mounting hardware that I needed to put it on my travel trailer. The instructions for the installation were very simple and this was an easy install, in my opinion. The solar panel has been on for a couple of weeks now and I have to say I wish I had bought one a long time ago. My batteries never seem to be low and I just got back from a 3 day camping trip. I highly recommend this solar kit for anyone who would like to no longer worry about dead batteries in their RV. There is a 25 year warranty on the panel as well. All you need for long weekend camping By Reverand I have a travel trailer that has all the amenities you would expect. My wife and I will typically use the lights, the waterpump, the furnace when it is cold and the stereo. We have 2 batteries in our trailer and we found that we were running out of power after a couple of days of camping. We started looking at solar options and believe me there are a lot of solar options out there. We found that the Go Power line is recomended by many people in the RV market. We purchased the GPRV-125 and it came with everything that we needed to install the solar kit. It came with a solar 125 watt Carmanah solar panel that puts out 7 amps per hour in good sunlight, the mounting hardware to mount the solar panel on the roof as well as the wire and most importantly the 25 amp GP-PWM-25 digital solar charge controller. The only thing we needed that was not in the kit was the sealant for the solar panel mounting brackets. We have a rubber roof so we used Dycor sealant for the brackets. There is a good installation video of the GPRV-125 on You Tube that is done by Fraserway RV. Just look up Fraserway RV solar install and it should be the top video. Since we installed the solar kit we have imeadiately noticed that the batteries are lasting much longer then when we are out camping. We recently stayed out for 4 days without the batteries getting below 50%. We know this because the GP-PWM-25 solar controller has a battery percentage display on it. We were even running the furnace every night! One of the days it was raining and it still charged the batteries to 100% by the end of the day. We are more then pleased with the Go Power 125 watt solar kit and would recommend it to anyone that is fed up with their batteries running dead while they are camping. By Brian Freeman Product works well but you need to check the output at the end of the cigarette lighter plug with voltmeter. I couldn't figure out why there was no power at the cig plug. After some investigating I realized there was a fuse inside the cig plug that was blown. Even though the blue light is flashing you'll still have no power at the plug. I was looking for an inexpensive pure sine wave inverter to replace my Duracell (Xantrex) modified sine wave inverter. I was expecting to have issues from the get go (due to the cheap price!) but this inverter is working out quite nicely. I have it hooked up to 4 Trojan T-105 batteries which is charged up with an 85 watt Kyocera solar panel and Xantrex C35 charge controller. Being pure sine wave, I can run anything now that my old modified sine couldn't. No more annoying buzzing sounds from CFL's or TV's. certain appliances that wouldn't power up on the old inverter now work flawlessly. Some things I run on the Sunforce: Samsung 22" LCD TV, CFL's of all sizes, Playstation 2, battery chargers, laptops, electric cooler. I haven't tripped the over current protection yet at all, not even when using items that typically surge, such as a large power drill. No fan issues like the other review mentioned.. in fact I haven't heard it come on at all yet; then again it's winter time here in Missouri so I assume it truly is thermal controlled. The remote keychain that was provided with the unit works great. Since I'm doing the electrical work on our new cabin, I can turn off and on when working on the electrical. Then turn it off when we leave for the week. The only issue I've had so far is once I came back on the weekend and the inverter turned itself back on sometime during the week. This normally wouldn't be a big issue except we're limited on battery capacity and can be a nuisance if kept happening. This has only happened the one time so no biggie. The LCD readout on the front of the inverter is a nice feature, more expensive inverters don't have this by default, though I rarely look at it. I would like to determine how much power the inverter uses when it's powered on and in idle mode. The documentation doesn't mention this anywhere and would expect that would be a major selling point. (or, disadvantage if it's too much of a power draw). I don't have an amp meter to test what it is, if you find out please post a review. The only other downsides is: 1) this inverter has no permanent mounting brackets. only rubber feet on the bottom. luckily the thick DC cabling keeps it well secured within the battery box. 2) the DC hookups are HAND TIGHTEN only. This can be an issue if you, like me, use the proper gauge wiring. in my case I'm using 6 gauge, which is actually borderline of being too small but the batteries are close by. I ended up using pliers to tighten the hand lugs. With thicker wiring, I imagine this would be a huge pain. PROS: inexpensive! I noticed the price just went up though :( LCD readout on front panel Keychain remote, I haven't seen any other inverters include this with the inverter itself CONS: no mounting brackets? The price on this unit is very attractive so I bought it and checked it out before installing. I tested it under light and maximum loads and even hooked it up to an oscilloscope to verify if it was really a sine wave output. The last thing I did was bring it in the house to power the TV, stereo, computer, DVD, and VHS player simultaneously. (This is still well under 1000W.) Baxter I purchased this Humless Sentinel as backup power for power outages and for the eventual major earthquake in the Palm Springs Area (I hope this one doesn't happen). What interested me was the long life lithium based battery and all the controls in one box. I had made a lead acid based battery system years before and have also read many reviews about the negative aspects of using "car/RV batteries". I wanted a clean system that would hold a charge for a very long time and really be ready when the need arises. It's a 50 amp hour system so it is not designed to make up for the loss of power to major appliances, but it runs lap top computers, small TVs, LED/CFL lighting, fans and basic necessities quite well (up to 1000 watts continuous). This product, although pricey, is well built and performs as described. I also purchased two 90 watt solar panels and some cabling from Humless directly (from their web site at Humless.com), that allow the system to recharge during longer power outages. The panels fully charge the Sentinel in about 4 hours, and are plug and play - meaning the twist-on connectors hooked up in seconds without any hassles at all. This means I can use the device during the day and still have some power for the evening hours. I still have the portability and it stores in a small closet space with the solar cables running up to my roof. The Humless team in Utah was very helpful answering questions during a few telephone calls to verify that coupling the Sentinel to their solar panels along with my "install skills" would get the job successfully done. Small panel with big power By Hillside Tommy I bought this Go Power! 95 watt solar kit from a local RV dealer early this year. I liked this panel because it was one of the smallest panels that I could find that still put out a lot of power. I have not had to worry about dead batteries since I had the kit installed on my travel trailer. The panel really does get power even in overcast days. This kit comes with a 25 amp charge controller so I can add more panels to the system down the road without changing the regulator, although I don't think I need to at this time. The display shows the voltage of the batteries and current that the panel is putting into my batteries. All in all the kit does what it claimed to do and I am very satisfied with the system. It would have been easier if it had any REAL instructions to build a frame or mounting system.. Had to get my 8 grade geometry books out to figure out how to build a sold frame from angle iron purchased separately.. the tester was not what was displayed in the ad.. just a diod on two wires. But after 5 days of struggles and an additional $200 in parts (and another $200 for batteries), it works like a charm and powers my electric fence and work shed lights. Hopeing to get a larger setup next year to 'grid tie' into our electricity. But for now, it's still working after 2 months of straight use. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Sunforce 37126, 260 watt Solar Kit By Walt I bought this kit about 3 months ago. Took some time to peace everything together required to install it. First off,the instructions are useless. The power inverter that comes with the kit is useless. It's made to use in your car for a laptop or some other small electronic equipment like a small TV and a light? (maybe) I purchased a Xantrex Prowatt SW1000 and the remote switch from Amazon, WORKS GREAT! The battery tester is another useless piece of junk included in the kit. It's just two diods that light up.(YOU WILL NOT GET WHAT IS PICTURED IN THE KIT). The mounting brackets for the solar panels are really not practical but could be used if you have nothing else and plan on mounting your panels nearly flat on the surface of your roof. But I would not recommend that unless your roof points due South and is at the right pitch for your location. I made a frame out of angle iron that works very well. The charge contoller works,(at least mine did) but it's not the best. (MINIMAL PROFROMACE AT BEST) I would suggest a MPPT charge controller like a Morningstar, Tristar TS-MPPT-45. The panels seem to work very well so far. They do work in low light conditions. I have been able to fully charge four T105 batteries everyday that have 60%-65% of their charge left. But with the Sunforce charge controller it takes all day long in full sun. I have ordered the Tristar 45 and I'm sure I will be able to charge the battery bank in much less time. Just do your homework and you'll find the same answers. Also note that Sunforce customer service is a joke. Simon will tell you all kinds of silly things before he will give you an RMA to return product. My friend bought two kits when I bought mine and he had to return both of the charge controllers as defective right out of the box. It's been over 6 weeks now and nothing. Two Northern units and 4 Sunforce units all 15 watt. ( these are the exact same units btw, northern's are cheaper). With two inverters, a 2500 watt, and a 300 watt pure sinewave for computers and such. Hooked through a 7 amp charge controller to a pair of 110 amp hour deep cells in parallel for a total of 220 amp hr's. I first hooked two panels up to see how they did, they worked well in very low light but couldn't ever get the batteries to "full" on the controller. I then hooked up a third panel and that gave enough to bring the batteries to full after a full day. With six panels hooked up, it will bring the batteries to "full" in a very few hours from a 30% drained condition. These units are less then optimally placed and rarely get full sun, but do very well even without that. Two panels in full sun may very well have been able to bring the batteries to "full" but location is a problem for me. One other product of note is the P3 international "Kill A Watt" electrical useage meter. Doing a survey of electrical useage in my house to get ready for this project was an eye opener to say the least. Perfect for my campsite By Tab Numlock I live on a river and built a campsite on an island across from my house (the dog loves it). I bought a deep-cycle marine battery but am getting too old to lug it in and out of the canoe for charging. So I got this little panel and, so far, have not run out of juice. And it's cheap enough so if someone steals it it's no big tragedy. I run a laptop, TV, fluorescent light and charge my cell phone. I even have a 12v car-vac to clean the sand out of the tent. Of course, I'm not there 95% of the time so 5 watts is probably adequate. And I don't have to worry about overcharging. I screwed it to a big log in pretty open sun. So far, it has survived, even some small hail. A nice tool for those who take long trips away By Amazon Consumer 40+ In 2006 I took a 3 week vacation out of the country. I left my car at the airport and away I went. Upon my return, I had to have the battery boosted for 15 minutes before it would turn my car's engine on. I have no idea what caused the drain (Sattelite Radio memory, car's other computers, etc), but I had to do something to prevent a $50.00 boost call in the future. A coworker told me about these devices and how his brother uses them to keep his mobile home powered when parked. Higher wattage products are sold, but if all you're doing is keeping a car battery charged, 5 watts is plenty of power for the job. No other devices (charger controllers) are needed. The charger comes with a couple of ways to hook up to the battery (direct battery terminal clips, cigarette lighter plug). I used the cigarette plug. Just plug it in to the power port, and lay the solar energy collector side face up on your dashboard. For those with heavily tinted windshields, I have no idea if the tint would cause a problem with the panel's energy collection. Good electric output but fragile / bad packaging By El Marco I recently ordered one of these panels (June 2007). The first one arrived shattered - the manufacturer packaging does not protect the panel much and it was inadequately packaged in the shipping box by Amazon. The replacement unit was also badly packaged for shipment. I tested the electrical output in full sunlight and got 20V out into a 100 ohm load -> 4 watts which is pretty good. One thing to consider though is that this product is not very rugged. The solar panel has a plastic frame but the middle is unprotected on the back (and front). So unless you handle it very carefully it is likely to break. Someone using this on a car dashboard would need some sort of protective carrier (like those insulated pizza boxes) to protect the unit when it was not being used. ------------ Update Dec 2007 ---------------- Panel stopped producing electricity in November. Had to send it in to Sunforce at my expense for warrantee replacement. They promptly tested it and sent me a replacement. One thing I did notice is that the plastic housing on the unit that I returned had developed some small cracks. I am using the unit on my car dashboard to keep my battery charged. Included instructions don't provide enough information. Website is just as un-informative. Cheap connector wires (low current), and is not equipped with screw-on terminal junctions. Good: Product works as advertised. Amazinlgly "regulates" the voltage to the required amount so as not to overcharge the battery. Beware though, in order to test the actual output voltage, you must apply a load on the battery end of the controller BEFORE. Failing this, the output can register volts as high as 20 volts !!! Apparently applying an actual load causes the controller to output the correct voltage range - lucky me, cause I bought 4 units ! The LEDS alternately flickers (fast for good voltage input and slow for low to no voltage on solar panel). The manual did NOT state the order of LED flashes. (1) Fast LED flashes - good voltage/current (2) Slow LED flashes - low/no voltage/current (3) steady Green - fully charged (4) steady amber - possible no load OR really low voltage/current I recommend you go out and buy 'em. The are a really good deal and does the job at the best price ! I use them in Jamaica, to provide my appliances with power during power outages (very frequent here). Used with solar panels and DC to AC inverter, of course. Considered using a generator, but too many accidents here with generators, too noisy, too bulky, and during hurricane aftermath, fuel is a problem. So far the charger works as advertised by preventing battery drain when the sun goes down and charging while the panels are producing at least 13 volts. It is pretty much an install and forget item. Additionally I have those same two batteries tied into one of my trucks 12V power points so that the batteries charge when the vehicle is running by way of the alternator. By J_R_S First of all, this wind generator's output is preset to 14.1 volts (for charging batteries, you know. The preset can be adjusted from 13 to 17 volts, by the way). 14.1 volts divided into 400 watts is 28 amps, so the specs are correct as stated in the product description. Remember to always keep in mind the differences between 120 volt AC current and 12 to 14 volt DC current -- it's really important on this alternative energy stuff. Naturally, you are only going to get close to the 400-watt maximum output with a steady 28 mph wind. But the unit won't "go up in smoke" at that point as some reviewer said -- all wind turbines have built in cut-out system that prevent them from going over their rated output and being damanged. C'mon, folks... the people who make these things are not dummies. But it's true that there are not many places in the world where you get 28 mph winds blowing on a regular, continuous basis. The suggestion of other reviewers to figure on getting maybe a 15 mph average wind speed with output from the wind generator of 50 to 60 watts at 2 to 3 amps is a realistic evaluation of what most people can expect out this or any other small wind turbine on a fairly regular basis. On days when you've got more wind, you luck out and get more power is all. That's why, for most people, the first alternative power choice is amorphous solar panels (they continue to work on cloudy days and with partial shade) because you can rely on the sun on a day to day basis more than you can on having a good steady wind consistently. The manual for this product states that the blades should start turning in a 7 mph wind, which is just a good breeze. Seeing my camper is an aframe it's pretty easy to just lay it out over a bubble to collect the suns rays, although I think we may build a mount so we can redirect it in any direction rather than just two. Initially I set it up in my driveway in full south eastern sun and the battery under load recovered very fast. I also ran the battery low on purpose (less than 12v) and it recovered quickly to 13.6v. I noticed it was also charging on overcast days and even though I checked the voltage with a meter I can't remember how much, but it did the job. We also changed over our light bulbs inside the camper to leds and that has helped with the draw. We do a lot of dry camping. We just came back from our first dry trip with the panel, and a week of charging cell phones and psps, running lights, water pump and other little things the battery is at a full charge and the panel got very little direct sun on a wooded site. So this panel seems to fit our needs fine. We are not running heat yet and we aren't using a ton of power either. Most people go bigger but I didn't want to have to pack up a huge panel or worry about where to store it and the extra weight. This panel is small and very easy to deal with. We picked up a 2 pin plug from Radio Shack so we could disconnect from the battery without having to access it. I run the cord through the electrical cord port. It was packaged well and everything was there. I am very happy with this panel and recommend it to anyone that would like to keep up a 12v battery under light use. I'm also pretty pleased I can leave it set up at home and not have to plug into the house. I'll try to add some pictures soon. (PS. Our goal was to run two fans 8-10 hours/night and keep two iPhones charged for 5 nights, 4 days without any power source. Product arrived as described. Controller appears to be very cheaply made, wires seem like they are undersized, and the controller unit was broken on delivery (transistor bouncing around in the box). I soldered the transistor back onto the board (night before departure, no time for a return) and it appeared to work. In full sun and aligned, the panel produced about 17.6 volts and 1.6 amps. Started off with a new Group 27 Marine/RV deep cycle battery, fully charged. We had two days of sun and two of clouds (the last two). I set the panel on a chair next to our camper at about 45 degrees each day and did my best to keep it aligned with the sun, though most of the charging time it was not perfectly aligned. The last two days, in particular, it was very cloudy and not well aligned. I unhooked the battery from the camper completely each day so the controller was connected only to the battery - completely unhooking and storing the panel/controller at night. Result: 5 full nights of two fans running 8-10 hours (02 12 volt, 700mA fans), 2 iphones charging each night. By my imperfect math, the battery might have delivered 3 days of fans without any charging before being dead. So - I take this to mean that the panel did the job. PROS - panel works as described, charging controller appears to have done what it was intended to. For basic uses such as the one above, the panel could keep you running for a long time (assuming it was really working at capacity). Relatively small and easy to store. I can't speak to longevity of either daily charging performance or the panel over time. CONS - charger is about as cheap as they come - mine was broken.

Gaarder Hi- I bought this set-up to keep my Motorhome charged when not using it. It is only 15 watts so can barely keep the battery up to charge if I am actually using any lights or other stuff but it will keep up with the draw of the refridgerator and minimal stuff. My only beef is the controller wires could have all been pre-terminated with connectors rather than having me do that. This was bought as a kit so it would have been nice if there was a connector on the input side of the controller that mated witht he connector on teh solar panel and a different style connector on the output that would be compatible with the cigarette-lighter adapter, etc. In other words- all set up to just plug in and go. Once I soldered and shrinkwrapped the new connectors on I'm pretty happy with it. Not everyone has the ability to properly terminate the wires. Package arrived dented, but contents appeared OK. Open circuit voltage on solar panel OK at 22v. However, max power output on sunny day was 1.6w (130mA@ 12.3v). This was on a day that my conventional 2.7kW system was producing 1.8kW. Feist This product has worked out well for me. As I haven't isolated my truck battery its charging both truck and camper. The vehicle has been unpluged from my 115V house access all summer.
