Ramsond SunShield 12V 12 Volt 8A 8 Amp Solar Charge Controller Regulator

Nearly a decade of advanced research, design and engineering have delivered to the market the most advanced solar charge controller in the world. This microprocessor controlled charge controller is extremely compact, light-weight and durable. Through its highly advanced microprocessor system, the Ramsond SunShield constantly monitors and regulates the voltage and current from the solar panels to the battery. It ensures that the battery is maintained at its optimal charge and prevents it from over-charging and over-discharging. Additionally it prevents the back-feed of electricity into the solar panel from the battery during hours of darkness. This controller is capable of handling virtually all 12 V solar panels in the market, with the maximum input capacity of up 24 Volts and 8 Amp. As such, it is perfectly suitable for most 12V rated solar panels up to 120 Watts. -Suitable for 12 Volt Nominal Panels -Maximum Input Voltage: 24V -Maximum Input Current: 8 Amp -Handles 12 V Panels from 5 to 120 Watts -LED Light Display Indicators -Battery Over-Discharge Protection and Monitoring -Battery Over-Charge Protection and Monitoring -Solar Panel Back-Feed Protection -Intelligent Microprocessor Controller -Hardened White ABS UV Resistant Outer Skin -User Friendly and Easy to Install -Thermostatic Over-Heat Protection -Compact and Lightweight with Superior Durability -Mounting Clips and Screws Included -Pre-Wired for Ease of Installation -Surface or Flush Mount Ready -1 Year Full Warranty (Parts & Labor)

Collins I purchased a Ramsond charge controllers about 3 years ago and it has preformed flawlessly since then. I have it connected to a 5 watt solar panel that keeps the battery charged in a 10KW Diesel generator. It keeps the battery charged at all times. The exact same battery kept going down after charging with a battery charger almost every three weeks. It's worth the price of the charge controller just to have peace of mind and no trouble. The battery has never gone down in 3 years! I also have a 20 watt Ramsond (black)solar panel and it produces far more power than the 20 watt (blue)solar panel by another manufacturer. Based on my experience with Ramsond, solar panels and charge controllers, Ramsond has products that are superior in quality. I have solar panels by 9 different manufacturers and charge controllers by 5 different manufacturers and some out-perform others. My main house solar setup has been running flawlessly since 2005. I have 4 independent solar setups for different projects that I work on. I will buy Ramsond products in the future! For people that have had problems with these charge controllers, this is my suggestion: Disconnect the solar panel from the charge controller, but leave the battery connected. Leave it disconnected for a few hours and then reconnect. Once the charge controller recognizes your setup, it will never give you any trouble whatsoever. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Nice little controller By DAVID K. TYLER Nice little controller, good price, no problems yet, don't know how long it will last! It does not have a weather proof case. 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Junk By GJ Geocacher As indicated by another reviewer this controller leaks current back into the solar panels at night (or when an RV is parked in a garage) and discharges the batteries. It is worthless in a situation where one needs to maintain a charge in batteries, as in an RV. See all 6 customer reviews...
