Instapark® 30W Mono-crystalline Solar Panel

Tired of all the noise and smell from your diesel generator? The Instapark SP-30W solar panel offers you a quiet, clean while carbon-free alternative. Capable of converting virtually unlimited solar energy into clean, green, most importantly, free electricity, this solar panel is made of high efficiency mono-crystalline solar cells embedded in transparent vinyl acetate behind tempered glass with heavy back sheet ensuring maintenance free performance. Unlike amorphous solar panels, which only last about 5-7 years of continuous use, mono-crystalline solar panels can still retain over 80% of efficiency even after 25 years of continuous use. Also, the mono-crystalline panels are much more efficient and thus smaller in size while producing higher wattage. This solar panel is designed and engineered to primarily charge 12-Volt batteries, which store and provide usable power when needed, ideal for powering your RVs, ATV, marine boats and electronic equipments. Other than recreational applications, solar power can also help lower your energy bills by reducing your dependence on the main electrical grid and provide back-up power during power outages.

Shull I searched around for a compact form solar panel with a decent watt output for my application and this works great! This isn't too much larger than the 5 watt harbor freight amorphous panel, but this instapark panel packs 6 times more power and at a good price. Using this with a Sunforce 7amp charge controller charges my 12v, sla, 20ah battery fast. Panel feels solid and it's weight reflects that. I would have liked to see better mounting options on the back of the panel, the aluminum frame has only two sides that are wide with a couple of predrilled holes. This of course requires user intervention to figure out how to attach mounting brackets. I recommend going with some aluminum 1" square bars from home depot to use as your crossmembers to mount to the back panel as a start. Stainless steel screws are a must for this type of project. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Bob By R. Broadway Product was delivered in good time. Product, so far, delivers what is specified. I have measured the short circuit current to be at least 1.5+ amps. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. installed for gate use By Igor Lesko I have MightyMule gate opener with solar power capability. Normally, it operates off a deep cycle 12V battery, charged by a transformer, from regular AC outlet by the gate. As a result, in case of blackouts, gate opener runs out of power in few days. After our last blackout 2 weeks ago, I said enough, and ordered this solar panel. It arrived rather fast. Considering how brittle panel is itself, packaging was sort of too flimsy for shipments that are tossed around or stacked up. It did OK, but there was minor superficial scratch on one cell and box was somewhat bent.Cable it comes with is short. Probably is 3 feet, just quite useless. I had panel installed yesterday. Checked with voltmeter, produces 17.8-18 V mid day heavy clouds.I used a satellite dish mount to mount it next to the gate opener, on gate post. Found wide and strong enough aluminum plate, drilled holes and bolted it to the panel frame, then bolted dish mount to the plate. 3 long hose clamps secured everything to the gate post.Gate opener control panel power source light went green and solid right away after panel connection. I guess, it's happy. Cable had to be extended. Will find out in a week or so, how it works, as I have large deep cycle battery there, and it takes a while to drain it, if it's not properly charged.Generally speaking, at $100 for panel, it better last long, long time, to recuperate cost.
